Poll: Did Gov. Little do the right thing by vetoing two emergency powers bills?

The Idaho Legislature passed two bills dealing with emergency powers, SB 1136 and HB 135. Both were designed to protect the rights of Idahoans during declarations of emergency, including gun rights, the right to peacefully assemble, and the right to free exercise of religion. Both bills passed both chambers of the Legislature by significant majorities. On Friday, April 16, Gov. Brad Little announced he would veto both of these bills.

Our legislators are trying to protect our rights and the governor is power hungry…Can’t the legislators pass the bills twice and they become law anyway? I called the governors office last week and asked if our state was protecting our rights. Now I know the real truth.
